A mother approached us at Wolverhampton Private Detectives regarding the father of her three month old child. Since the birth of their child the father has become increasingly distant from the client and their son without providing any reason or explanation for the change in behaviour. Though her partner still lives in the family home the client feels he wants to leave but refuses to when she suggests it saying that he still cares for them though the rest of the time shows no affection. These conflicting actions have left the client confused and anxious and uncertain about her future with the individual which she finds obviously distressing for both her own sake and her son’s.
After consultation with the client and the collaboration of her information on the individual it was decided that the investigation would begin with a period of surveillance of the individual during his work day in a nearby hotel to assess whether the change in personality was effective here too. By the end of his hours the attitude of the individual was similar to how he was at home which proved reassuring to the client in some ways. However more unusual behaviour took place as he left work as instead of returning home the individual proceeded to a nearby residence where he parked his vehicle and exited. Operatives then witnessed the target entering a residential care home for the elderly and speaking with familiarity to the woman behind the desk. Following a brief conversation the target proceeded into the building where he sat with an elderly man for several hours before departing to return to the client.
The client was presented with a full report of the findings of the investigation from which she confronted her partner on the identity of the elderly man and the reason for his behaviour toward her. The individual broke down and explained that the man he had been visiting was his father who he had only been reintroduced to several months before after twenty years absence. Now he was torn between his responsibility his partner and child and the dying father who abandoned him as a child.
